How Important Is Hydration During an EESystem Session?

Hydration is something we often mention to clients before, during, and after an EESystem session, yet it’s one of the most commonly overlooked aspects of preparation. Because EESystem sessions are passive - you’re simply sitting or resting - it’s easy to assume hydration isn’t particularly important.
In reality, while hydration does not determine whether the EESystem 'works or doesn’t work', it plays an incredibly meaningful and supportive role in how the body experiences a session and how someone feels afterward (during the detox phase).
Understanding why hydration matters can help you approach your sessions more comfortably and intentionally.
The Body Is Fundamentally Water-Based
The human body is made up of roughly 60% water, with some tissues - such as the brain, blood, and muscles - containing even higher proportions. Water is essential for virtually every physiological process, including:
Circulation of blood and lymph
Transport of nutrients into cells
Removal of metabolic by-products
Temperature regulation
Electrical and chemical signaling within the nervous system
Because EESystem sessions focus on creating an environment that supports the body at a cellular and energetic level, hydration becomes relevant simply because water is the medium through which many of these processes occur.
Hydration and Cellular Communication
Cells rely on fluid balance to maintain structure and function.
When the body is mildly dehydrated, cells may struggle to regulate electrolytes, transport nutrients efficiently, or maintain optimal communication pathways.
During an EESystem session, the body is exposed to an environment designed to support cellular coherence, communication, and balance.
While hydration doesn’t amplify or “activate” the system, it may help the body respond more comfortably within that environment.
Put simply: Hydrated cells are more resilient and adaptable than dehydrated ones.
Why Some People Feel Different During or After Sessions
People often report a wide range of sensations during or after EESystem sessions, including:
Deep relaxation or sleepiness
Increased warmth
Tingling or subtle sensations in the body
Feeling mentally clear or calm
Temporary fatigue
Increased thirst or urination later in the day
These experiences are individual and vary greatly from person to person. Hydration may help the body regulate these sensations by supporting circulation, fluid balance, and metabolic processes.
In contrast, attending a session while under-hydrated may contribute to less comfortable experiences, such as headaches, light-headedness, or fatigue - sensations that can occur even outside of EESystem use when hydration is insufficient.
In some cases, we've seen people experience quite 'extreme' detox reactions called a healing crisis'. These are not a 'bad thing' or evidence of dysfunction in the body, rather they can be a great pre-cursor to the changes someone may be looking for. In these cases, it is crucial to be well hydrated and doing the detox baths we provide.
Hydration and the Nervous System
The nervous system is particularly sensitive to hydration status. Even mild dehydration has been associated with:
Increased perception of stress
Reduced concentration or mental clarity
Headaches
Low mood or irritability
Fatigue
Because many people attend EESystem sessions seeking relaxation, nervous system support, or recovery from stress, hydration may help create a more receptive internal environment for parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) processes.
In this sense, hydration doesn’t create an outcome - but it may help remove unnecessary barriers that make it harder for the body to settle.
Hydration, Circulation & Detox Pathways
Water plays a role in supporting the body’s natural elimination systems, including the kidneys, lymphatic system, and digestive tract. Some people notice increased urination or thirst after sessions, which can simply reflect the body’s ongoing fluid regulation.
Maintaining hydration before and after sessions may support:
Healthy blood flow
Lymphatic movement
Normal metabolic clearance
This is not about “detoxing” in a dramatic sense, but rather supporting the body’s everyday housekeeping functions, which rely heavily on adequate fluid intake.
Does Hydration Improve EESystem Results?
This is an important distinction to make clearly and responsibly.
Hydration does not make the EESystem more powerful, more effective, or capable of producing specific outcomes. The EESystem functions independently of hydration levels. In fact, the EESystem as we've said many times is not a medical device - it only generates an energetic environment conducive to your body restoring itself.
However, hydration supports the body - and the body is the one responding to the environment. It is crucial as your body deals with waste, and processes anything unwanted within the body.
Think of hydration as part of general wellbeing hygiene, much like sleep, nutrition, or stress management. When these are supported, people often feel more comfortable, resilient, and receptive overall.
Practical Hydration Tips for Sessions
There’s no rigid formula, but the following gentle guidelines may help:
Drink water consistently throughout the day
Have a glass of water before your session
Bring a bottle if you feel more comfortable sipping during longer sessions
Continue normal hydration afterward
Listening to your body is key. Thirst, urine colour, and how you feel overall are often better indicators than strict targets.
If the EESystem environment is like tuning an instrument, hydration helps ensure the instrument isn’t dry, brittle, or strained.
The system provides the setting - hydration supports the body’s ability to sit comfortably within that setting and position itself to thrive moving forward.
Hydration Is Supportive to the EESystem Process
To be clear: We recommend to everyone to be well hydrated during sessions to assist your body in what it needs to do. In fact, we encourage everyone to take their hydration seriously even when they aren't having sessions.
Hydration is a simple, accessible way to support your body - and when combined with rest, consistency, and realistic expectations, it may help you feel more comfortable and grounded throughout your sessions.
Hydration is a practical, supportive habit that aligns with general wellbeing and comfort during EESystem sessions.
By approaching hydration as part of caring for your nervous system, circulation, and cellular health, you can give your body the best chance to respond naturally and comfortably to your time in the EESystem.
